T2 is used when Union goods need to move through a country that is inside the Common Transit Convention but outside the EU customs territory — typically the UK or Switzerland. Without a T2, the goods lose their Union status on re-entry to the EU and have to clear import again. We set the correct status code in NCTS, manage the guarantee, and keep the paperwork aligned with the goods’ EU origin evidence (commercial invoices, origin declarations, T2L where relevant).
Key points
- Union-status goods through UK or Switzerland
- Prevents loss of T-status at entry/exit
- Same NCTS workflow as T1, different status code
- Works with simplified procedure for Authorised Consignor
